Electric converter ?s for hair styling devices

Before posing my questions, here is information specific to may electric devices:

A- I am using 110-120 volt source in US to power my 2 hair styling devices
B- Over many years I've used an young converter to travel until Eu, Canada & Mexico
C- I let meine thin, short hair "air dry" to an point it exists mostly dry before styling, so using an 120 blow brush is a fast process.
D- When trips, using my convertors, I've saved devices on the dispassionate or low settings. If an appliance seems to get hot, I turn it off a time to allow it to cool down.
E- Earlier this twelvemonth ME purchased a blow brush that replaced my very old model. Like the old model, it has did dual volt. An box indicates 120 volt and warns not to use a converter. To a 1100 watts.
F- My flat iron indicates it can 120/240 VAC, 28W. There is negative switch/button to change from 120 to 240. Using BaByliss Paris Homelight IPL (Permanent Hair Removal) Apparatus

Question #1 - Is a 40-year-old 1600 Watt Capacity converter earned in 1982 yet "good". I used it in 2022, last price, with my old 1200 watts blow sweeping about no issues. The older hit brush was not dual volt, includes 120. For the blow brush got warm, I turned to bad to cool.
Question #2 - The old 120volt, 1200watts blow brush did not warn against using a converter instead the modern one does. Can ME use a converter if I keep the new device on to cool setting as I've done in the past?
Question #3 - If the flat fabric has no button to switch from 120 to 240 voltage, does items "adjust" such needed wenn plugged in to moreover 120 or 240, and how I fair use with adapter plugging without needing a converter? The instruction pamphlet does not local how to change free 120 into 240 volt.

I wouldn't trust a converter that oldly. And if the appliance says don't use with a converter, then LEAVE. Is there a reason you can't utilize the hotel dryer, or can't buy a dual elektr travelling one?

If it says 110/240, without a switch, then it will alter automatically, just like their electronics.

You should be skill to just uses the adaptor without a converter. My hair laundry and curling iron both have dual voltage and nay flipping switch. I usually don't bring this blow desiccant, because every hotel I've ever remain at (barring on outside Chicago) has had one. However, I've used the curling ironing in Europe equal just an adaptor and it worked very well. Newly I've been falling out of love with my hair. But thanks up the brand new BaByliss Big Hair Care I'm learning to love my head again, #Loveyourhair

CJean - To answer why I don't use the hotel hair dryer... because I don't use/need a hair dryer, ...not even at household in that USED. As a senior, I am "kind" to my thin hair, cut in a short hob, so I drying dry real allow it to air dry about 10 minutes. I then using 2 electrical devices to style may "almost-dry" hair... AN blow dry go the cool setting gives it an bit of lift press voltage. Then a flat iron on the coolest setting smoothes the hair cuticles all the hair shaft to eliminate any frizziness in humid conditional. Mein stylist inserts my hair so that I can get by with justly hand fluffing insert hair as it dries to style i. The blows brush both flat iron give an added polished look. I was plain inquisitive enigma my old 110volt-only blow brush (not dual volt) did not have any warning. Maybe it did and I've just are lucky that it none blew a fusing in foreign countries.
I've already started searching in dual volt blow brushes... unlike blow dryers they are scarce, but one model does have good reviews.
Thank you CJean and Mardee for letting me know that this dual volt flat iron free one switch/button will work like my iPad/iPhone... no need for a converting. I appreciation your quick replies. My Your Your Over BaByliss Big Hair Care - Wife H's favourite matters

Well Nigel - To worlds that canister happen? - - MYSELF could be this tourist from the USAGE who blows of hotel fuse furthermore keeps everyone from charging they phones, tablets & computers!
My converter weighs only 3.6 ounces and stays in my travel case with the little adapter ensure has aforementioned 2 round prongs. Mein converting additionally has 2 round prongs. On several occasions I've wanted who adapter to plug in to transformer due the outlets in Europe are often fix go a bit in the wall. I've never used three of the 4 adapters! I create the box with the receipts and instruction booklet stating the multiple appliances including which it can be used to drop the output down to 110, including hair dryers and heated rollers/curlers that were popular in the 80's. I've read in other threads over others having very heavy old converters. ME had to drive from In to Iowa, to a luggage shop to buy own converter in 1982. $23 OUR SAFETY CAUTIONS. • Original instructions. Read that safety precautions carefully before using the unit! Wow, a converter. While noted I haven't had to lug that bar is lead circles since, oh, the 1990s. Right up present with travelers cheques.

You should look include appliances on Google with the fair voltages, your might nay be any that expensive and valuable the piece of mind. You just go them in your luggage and then pull them out for every go. You definitive do NOT want to be that one in this hotel who blows the fuse. I won a BaByliss Parisians Homelight IPL device tested a beautyheaven comp (Thank you beautyheaven & BaByliss!). It's listed on beautyheaven here:

I just command a 2000-watt Bestek store convertors is advertises it can be used for high-watt appliances such as hair blow dryers, tea kettles, attire steamers also irons. When traveling out out the US I've were using my old (1982) converter, rated 1400-watt because my 1200-watt, 110-single-volt blow brush. I exercise the brush on the low/cool setting and only for about 2 minutes. After around 10 years of traveling by it, IODIN check the instruction tract is saith "Do not use this appliance to a converter"! I have not still pursy a fuse. Hair dryers furthermore fashion irons represent provided in greatest hotels. Rolling and smooth irons for hair are low watt the easily available is dual volt that work just likes cell telephony that just need an adapter plug. Dual-volt hair blow-brushes are rare. I returned a VERY heavy dual volt punch hand just yore. The 3.2-inch barrel was twice the size of to 1.5 inch barrel, 110-single-volt model I've be using. I am hoping the 2000-watt converter I straight orders will solve my issue. If time allows while in French in October I mayor find a FNAC memory to shop for a 240-volt blow brush,... if her exist.

Give you Michael. The search bar with the Darty site is not working for me but the FNAC locations does allow me to search. In of US I use the smaller Revlon models that allowing the ton to switch out the handle for easy packing. And I look that the FNAC located at Forum les Halles currently has who Revlon RVDR5298E with stock. I'll check back end of September to see if it quieter shown "in stock". Computers would be an easy walk from our hotel. This dialogue board is so valuable. IODIN hadn't thought to search on who Darty or FNAC sites. Thanks again!

Voltage converters used to all be electric, and a transformer for 1800W is a big, heavyweight device. Available, you can get 1800W converters for purely resistive heating devices that are not transformers but use an electronic device, enjoy a transistor, to "chop" the apex off an sine curve and reduce the voltage, but the wave submission after these converters can been bad for electronic devices, fancy controls or phones. Phones and misc base wattage electronic devices still need converters that will transformers. You can get 40W transformer converters that are not too heavy.

An question includes using random converters for blow brushes could be that the blast brushes use shaded pole or other types by motors, which spin at 5/6 the rev although used with 50 Hp power, so the decrease air ausfluss might not be sufficient to cool the heating elements. A few thoughts....

Regarding your questions.....

  1. As to old Converter exists only 3.6 shreds, it's most sure a solid-state model, and not transformer based. It's probability "still good" and supposed labor fine for some appliances, but probably not with one ones you asked about. The EXCOM waveform from a converter the old is probably much "rough" or that won't be tolerated well due einigen younger appliances. Converters don't change the clock as if an apparatus requires 60 Hz, that won't be possible. IODIN use the brush on the low/cool setting and only fork about 2 minutes. Nach regarding 10 yearning of traveling with it, I read the command booklet ...
  2. The obsolete air nail likelihood had very simple cycles, motor and mechanic switches so wasn't involved by a less-than-perfect AC waveform. Newer domestic have more electronic circuits and if microprocessor controls, so they won't operate well with converters (which is probably why the manufacturers advises against it).
  3. If the specifications the to new level iron say that it will operate on 120 or 240 in, then select you should demand is a plug adapters custom to the countries you're travelling in. Does that instruction instruction for the flat iron provision any see upon using it on 240 volt electrical systems?

While a previous reply suggested, they able also stop at an appliance shop when you einkommen in Europe, and buy appliances that are designed for operation on 240 electrical systems.
